Compaction Response of Mining-Induced Rock Masses to Longwall Overburden Isolated Grouting

چکیده

Surface subsidence in coal mine areas can cause serious geological hazards. After a seam is mined, the overlying rock layers fracture, collapse, and expand; fractured bulking masses are then continuously compacted under action of overburden load, which eventually leads to surface subsidence. Overburden isolated grout filling via boreholes, high-pressure grouting mining-induced fissures hard layer, uses pressure compact lower advance, replacing void effectively controlling The characteristics mass bulking, compaction associated with mining key design parameters control. In this paper, theoretical model masses’ compactness during injection proposed, determines filling. An experimental study was conducted reproduce evolution response results indicated that small no-pressure stage, low-pressure pressure-boost stages were generating effect It found substantially increased filled volume by transforming space into space. Using engineering measurement data, law for verified. This paper provides basis evaluation control effectiveness.

Grouting of Rock Masses

The grouting of rock used to be a quite empirical constructional technique aimed to improve somewhat the physical properties of the masses, which are actually part of the civil engineering project. Different "grouting schools" or "ways of thinking" did develop and a considerable number of recipes were dictated by "great old men" and enforced later on by regulations of any kind. Only in the last...

Theory of Gravity Isstability with Variable Overburden and Compaction

The gravitational instability of a simple two-layered medium resting on a rigid base has been treated in terms of the analog model of Biot. In order to avoid complications of purely mathematical nature which are unrelated to the physics of the process of instability and do not affect the results significantly, the analysis is presented for the two-dimensional case? It is shown that such a syste...

Discrete element modeling of explosion-induced fracture extension in jointed rock masses

The explosion process of explosives in a borehole applies a very high pressure on its surrounding rock media. This process can initiate and propagate rock fractures, and finally, may result in the rock fragmentation. Rock fragmentation is mainly caused by the propagation of inherent pre-existing fractures of the rock mass and also from the extension of the newly formed cracks within the intact ...

Compaction Bands in Porous Rock

Compaction bands are localized, planar zones of compressed material that form perpendicular to the maximum compressive stress. Compaction bands have been observed in porous sandstone formations in the field and in laboratory compression tests on porous sandstone, plaster, glass beads, polycarbonate honeycombs and metal foams. Because the permeability of the compacted material is much reduced, c...
